See It: Just a 30 minute drive from central Tucson, Arizona, USA, is the beautiful Tucson Mountain Park. Here you can see hundreds of the famous, tall, and long-lived saguaro (səˈ(g)wärō) cactus. One of these beauties happened to grow right next to a tall rock formation, allowing me (and you!) to enjoy this bird-eye view! There are several pullouts along the highway where you can park and walk on- or off-trail. But do be careful while enjoying this spectacular desert wonderland; a wide variety of thorny cacti are all about, including the apt-named ‘jumping’ cholla. More about Tucson Mountain Park, saguaro cactus, cholla cactus.

Shoot It: This shot was using a Canon 7D (crop factor 1.6), Canon EF-S10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 at 10mm and f/4.5, 1/15 sec, and ISO2000, handheld, on Aug 8, 2017 at 7:35 PM. Basic adjustments were made in Photoshop Lightroom.

Improve It: What are three ways you can tell the sun had already set when I took this shot? What challenges did this create for me to capture this image? What problems are you having with your photographs? Let me know at Inquiries@GibsonOutdoorPhoto.com and I will share some tips to overcome these issues in a future blog post.
